Local Christian Radio Station Cleared For Expansion

Real Life Radio Foundation is pleased to announce that we are receiving approval to upgrade the power output and tower height of (WVYN) “90.9 The Vine” and expand the coverage area of the Local Christian Radio station which operates from our studios in Wayne City.  Final approval from the FCC is imminent which will more than double the station output power from 4,500 watts to 11,000 watts while also increasing the tower height from 150 feet to 250 feet. 

Scientific engineering data reveals this rare opportunity to upgrade from a Class A to a Class C3 License.  We believe this is another miracle that God has publicly displayed since the founding of this local Christian Radio station through the original “miracle” tower that he provided.

That “miracle” tower allowed the foundation to file for an FCC License over 7 years ago. We received FCC approval and signed on-the-air during Father’s Day, June 21, 2009.  Since that time the radio station continues to receive positive feedback on a daily basis about the impact that “The Vine” radio ministry is having on people in our area.  We broadcast the "Good News" 24-hours a day.  The station airs several locally-produced daily devotionals in addition to a format of Contemporary Christian music throughout the day as well as an early-morning Southern Gospel show.  The radio station has promoted many area Christian concerts and has assisted many area churches by promoting a variety of ministry events.

The increased coverage area will enable the station to reach additional communities such as Carmi, Benton, West Frankfort, Grayville, Albion, Norris City and Nashville while dramatically improving the signal to towns such as McLeansboro, Mt. Vernon, Centralia, Salem, and Flora.  The foundation is attempting to raise $100,000 to purchase & erect the taller tower and a larger 6-bay antennae to increase the power through a special fund-raising event.
